The Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry (Kanto-METI) supports development of the local economy through tourism policy. For example, Kanto-METI seeks to promote local tourist areas in collaboration with Les Clefs d’Or Japan, a professional association of hotel concierges in Japan. Kanto-METI encourages tourists to visit diverse locations by collecting and providing information from concierges with deep knowledge of local areas.
