Promotion of the Industrial Cluster Plan

METI-Kanto (Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry) has been promoting the Industrial Cluster* Project that will support the development of new businesses, induce technological innovation, and give rise to university-generated venture businesses.

There are many potentially strong enterprises in Kanto area, and there is accumulation of cutting-edge enterprises in some areas.
METI-Kanto has been supporting these areas by utilizing the following measures.
　

The Industrial Cluster Project

* "industrial cluster"refers to related enterprises in a specific area and related institutions that compete and create synergies, while also cooperating within a region. "Cluster"originally meant "bunch of grapes" and is used to mean a group or a gathering.

Ⅰ　Regional Industry Revitalization Project

METI-Kanto has been promoting the following projects.
It is hoped these projects will help to bring the development of successive new international businesses that also support the regional economy.

Ⅱ　Fostering Bio Factory Project

This project supports Biotechnology-Related Startups by offering various support networks and strengthening the collaboration between industry, university and government.
 
　　　　Biotechnology fields : About 210 companies and 13 universities

Ⅲ　Fostering IT-Ventures

This project aims to create IT Ventures by offering various support networks.
It is hoped that this project will foster IT Ventures which seek to enter the world market.
